Radiant Dawn

The Gesualdo Six comes to Tilburg with a concert focused on light in all its forms. Together with trumpeter Matilda Lloyd, the vocal ensemble reveals how music can glow, shine and slowly fade into twilight.

You will hear works from the golden age of polyphony by composers such as Tallis and White, alongside music by contemporary composers like Roxanna Panufnik, Alec Roth and Deborah Pritchard. This creates a programme in which past and present continually intersect.

A special highlight in the programme is O radiant dawn by James MacMillan. Aura by Richard Barnard, written especially for the musicians, also takes centre stage. From bright choral textures to a soft, almost floating trumpet tone—this concert lets you hear what light can sound like.
