Georgina Verbaan & Jan Decleir
Top actors Jan Decleir and Georgina Verbaan share the stage with the Dudok Quartet and pianist Hannes Minnaar. Together, they present thought-provoking stories and timeless musical pieces in two captivating narratives. Discover how ancient sounds can still touch you today.
Fear no more with Georgina Verbaan
In 2025, one in four adults will face an anxiety disorder in their lifetime. In Fear no more, Georgina Verbaan tells a story about existential fear, accompanied by What Remains, the fourth string quartet by Dutch composer Joey Roukens. The Dudok Quartet brings this work to life as a musical roller coaster through times, sounds, and textures, in which – for those who listen closely – fear also resonates.
A piece that makes an impression and has a healing effect. Because for those who don't know yet: classical music lowers your heart rate, your blood pressure, and the stress hormone cortisol. And maybe, just for a moment, it makes you forget your fear.
Hereditary kingship with Jan Decleir
The constitution is clear: the kingship is hereditarily fulfilled by the descendants of King Willem I, Prince of Orange-Nassau. But is that still relevant today? Under the current king, trust in the royal house has greatly declined, after all.
Jan Decleir, who himself has portrayed many royal roles, takes you into this provocative debate. Using Beethoven's sonata Les Adieux – masterfully performed by Hannes Minnaar – he explores the arguments for and against hereditary kingship. Les Adieux was composed for Beethoven's friend Rudolf of Austria, a hereditarily appointed archduke.
Spraakmakers connects classical music with today's world. Top actors and top ensembles meld thought-provoking stories and timeless musical works into a compelling narrative. Told and played simultaneously, as one theatrical music story.
