With a nod to her roots in the Achterhoek region, ‘coming home’ forms the central theme of the concert and her time as a student. It is a quest to find and create your own place. It speaks of the longing to come home, only to discover in the end that perhaps you have been at home within yourself all along. And if that feeling is sometimes hard to find, you can also find a sense of home in music or in the people around you whom you love.

In this personal programme, Paulien takes the audience by the hand and leads them on her quest for a home. In doing so, she showcases the versatility of the entire oboe family: oboe, oboe d’amore and alto oboe.

The programme features works by Bach, Krenek, Hindemith and Kalliwoda. Together, these pieces form a musical story about searching, growing, getting lost and ultimately coming home.
