‘It takes a village to raise a child,’ they say. Glen Faria was raised by the city. By a strong mother, an impressive brother, tough cousins, adventurous friends and outspoken girls. And there was always the shadow of the apartment blocks, where you could shelter from the sun or accidentally end up in an awkward situation.

Glen’s father gave him a box to take with him on his path, filled with the beliefs, life lessons and experiences you need to be a man. Glen carried this box with him, and everyone was allowed to add something to it. When his own son turned 21, Glen wanted to pass the box on to him. But he took another good look and thought: ‘this box really needs sorting out before I hand it over’.
