You hear Haydn as you rarely encounter him: Il mondo della luna is a comic opera. Haydn’s operas are not often performed in the Concertzaal. His operatic work is (unjustly) less well known than his symphonies or string quartets, and is a true musical discovery that is seldom heard.

Conductor Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg gives the music drive and direction. You hear precision and joy at the same time. The young singers of the Dutch National Opera Academy bring energy and character in a production directed by Anja Kühnhold.
