Samson en (een beetje) Delilah
For centuries, we have been telling each other the same stories. Myths, fairy tales, folktales – and Bible stories like that of Samson en Delilah. A classic hero's tale, in which Delilah is portrayed as the traitor and Samson as the strong protector of his people.
But what if we view it differently? What if Delilah is not a traitor but a freedom fighter? And Samson is not the noble hero, but a violent hothead with a narcissistic personality? Suddenly, themes like toxic possessiveness, femicide, and patriotism emerge.
In Samson en (een beetje) Delilah, the old story takes on a new meaning. Theatergroep Aluin brings it to life in its own quirky way, mixing theater, dance, and the combat sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. A war dance in which classic characters take on a contemporary face.
