Makershuis Tilburg is a collaboration between five Tilburg partners: Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Theater De Nieuwe Vorst, Festival Circolo, Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg, and DansBrabant. Together, they annually offer short-term talent development programs for circus, dance, and theater makers who are at the beginning of their artistic career and have a demonstrable connection to Tilburg.

A big small space journey: from attic window to the edge of the solar system in a theatrical planetarium.

The gears turn, and you zoom out. A gabled roof with an attic window and chimney appears. You zoom out further. The house becomes a street. The street becomes a city, a country. Further and further, until the solar system. Until confusion gives way to wonder: that small blue dot... that is home.

Heintz & Kop take you on a manually conjured space journey for which you don't have to leave your seat. The audience sits around a mechanical table, inspired by the Eise Eisinga Planetarium, where models and live projections together form an ever-expanding world. Wordlessly and artisanally, a sensory journey unfolds from street to city, from earth to an ever-expanding perspective. The performance is not a reconstruction, but a playful imagination of the universe, conjured up with everyday materials: cardboard, mirrors, a hand winch, flashlights, and perhaps even a ping-pong ball.

Like Eise Eisinga, who built a planetarium in his own living room to gain grip on the unrest in the world, Heintz & Kop create a space journey as a gesture of wonder and stillness, a human attempt to experience our place in the endless universe around us.
