NDT 2 | A poem for the world
A poem for the world is an ode to the playfulness and humanity that characterise the dancers of NDT 2. The dance performance brings together two beloved works by choreographer Edward Clug and associate choreographer Crystal Pite, accompanied live by musicians from Het Balletorkest, along with a world premiere by acclaimed creator Johan Inger.
Edward Clug – mutual comfort
We return to the playful world of mutual comfort (2015), a creation by Edward Clug for NDT 2. In ten minutes he showcases the essence of his dance universe: individual experiences, human contradictions, and connection. With live music by Milko Lazar, dancers explore connection, comfort, and support, filled with subtle humor and unexpected beauty.
Crystal Pite – Four Solitudes
In 2019, associate choreographer Crystal Pite was co-creator of Kunstkamer. Her poetic quartet has now been developed into Four Solitudes, a complete piece about loneliness and togetherness. Inspired by Rilke and supported by live-performed music from Schubert, Pite connects love, individuality, and virtuosity in dance.
Johan Inger – World Premiere
Additionally, we present a new world premiere by Johan Inger, who has been creating for NDT for over thirty years. His work revolves around musicality, human relationships, and emotional presence. In collaboration with the NDT 2 dancers, this new piece focuses not on looking back, but on listening, exchanging, and discovering how movement embodies who we are now.
