Frank van Pamelen

Hebba Nolla

Waiting list
Words matter. Especially in the world of Frank van Pamelen. Writer, poet, columnist, cabaret artist – above all a word artist. On NPO Radio 1, in podcasts and publications, on more and more stages he plays a game with language. He surprises with forms, tilts your perspective.

In Hebba Nolla Frank dissects the power of words. How language can clarify but also obscure. How opinion‑makers and policymakers use words to manipulate. He pierces through nonsense with cryptic twists and unconventional logic. Expect inventive songs, sharp jokes and a touch of PowerPoint poetry. About sense and nonsense. Whole and half truths. And invented truths that seem to breathe the spirit of the times ever more breathlessly.

Frank draws connections, ties points together, places question marks and exclamation marks. In a virtuoso way he weaves a web of words. That ultimately matters enormously.

Frank van Pamelen won, among others, the Kees Stip Prize for his light‑verse oeuvre and the audience award of the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival. He has a current language column on NPO Radio 1 and annually organises the national LichteGedichtenDag.

Hebba Nolla is more than a performance. It is a multimedia project: from August 2025 a weekly podcast about the alphabet will appear, followed in the autumn by a cheerful language book and a groundbreaking cabaret programme.
