New Year’s Eve, no year‑end conference. A look back, no moral. Humour. No interpretation. No life lessons. Also no script, by the way. In The rather hyper‑special Tilburg New Year’s Eve improvisation extravaganza 2026, cabaret performers Andries Tunru and Stefan Hendrikx examine the year.
On the basis of Tilburg news, familiar guests and stories from the audience, they improvise an entire New Year’s Eve show together. Don’t worry: you don’t have to go on stage yourself, leave that to Stefan and Andries. After winning the Dutch National Improvisation Theatre Championship — three years in a row! — their rave ★★★★★ reviews and six sold‑out Lowlands shows, they have quickly built up a real cult status.
Andries Tunru won prizes at three different cabaret festivals and broke through to a wide audience via De Slimste Mens, Spijkers met Koppen and Beat the Champions. Stefan Hendrikx won the Leiden Cabaret Festival and was immediately nominated for the Neerlands Hoop for his debut show. They are musically accompanied by virtuoso keyboard player Joep Hullegie.
