Nearly three years after their first collaboration and more than one hundred concerts around the world, Ablaye Cissoko reunites with the talented Cyrille Brotto for a new and masterful partnership in which kora, vocals and accordion come together.

After many remarkable collaborations across diverse musical genres, Ablaye Cissoko once again surprises—this time by joining forces with French diatonic accordionist Cyrille Brotto. The result sounds like a waltz between two forms of knowledge, a conversation between two deeply lived‑in instruments.

The album is titled Djiyo (meaning “water”) and flows like a river connecting the lands it passes through, blending Manding and Occitan traditions in harmony. This performance is about more than music alone: it tells a story of friendship and deep mutual respect.

In this intimate and spiritual musical journey, the two virtuosos rediscover their connection to their instruments. They offer a luminous exchange with a hint of melancholy—a poetic and intense dialogue, and a beautiful lesson in music and humanity.
